Christmas Gift Ideas for 10 Year Old Boys
When Christmas rolls around and it is time to think about what your 10 year old son wants this year, you may find it to be more of a challenge this year than it has in any year past. At this age most boys are finally starting to form a pretty good idea of what they really like and of course those things in their life that they are finally getting to old for. Most toys are finally on the list of things that they no longer want, at this age however there are still some toys that make it onto the list.
The Toys and Games List
On top of most boys' lists at this age are fun toys such as Nerf brand guns that they can battle with each other for hours without hurting each other or breaking anything in or around the house. Video games are still one of the best gifts for boys this age no matter what system they have; there are plenty of fun action games available that will give them endless hours of fun.
Sports gear is always as safe bet as most ten year olds like to play football any time the weather is good enough to be out on the football pitch. Of course if he has a favourite sports team you can always buy him a selection of gear in his favourite team's colours so that he can show his support all year round. However, while all these gifts are great, at 10 years old many boys are hoping for gifts that make them feel a little more grown up as they approach their teenage years.
A Gift in Time
As boys hit the age of ten they start to feel like they are ready for a little more responsibility and want to have a few gifts under the tree that reflect this. One of the best gifts you could possibly buy for a boy this age is a brand new watch. While you may have bought your son a few toy watches and even a character watch or two in the past, they were more than likely made of plastic and did not last very long, in fact most of them probably ended up in the bottom of his toy box a couple of months after he got them because they quit working.
10 years old is the perfect age to buy your son his first real watch, while he still plays rough and gets pretty dirty at times he is still getting old enough to take care of a good watch. Watches that are made for boys this age are usually made to "take a licking and keep on ticking" as the old Timex advertisements once said.
You can buy him a watch that covers his favourite sport or sports team so that he can show his support all year. Then there are the adventure watches that come loaded with features and are made to withstand a lot of abuse. One of the best features these watches have is a built in GPS that will not only track his speed if he goes walking or jogging but can pinpoint his location to help him find his way home again.
If you really want to give your son gift he will take care of and cherish for more than just a few months take the time to find him the perfect watch. This is a great way to let your son know that you as a parent realize that he is growing up and ready for the responsibility that comes with it.
