The Ben 10 animated series has become one of the hottest shows on Cartoon Network since its inception in 2005 and for every fan the idea of owning a Ben 10 Omnitrix watch is right at the top of their wish list. As a parent you take great pleasure in giving your child the things he wants but after taking a look online you find out that there are at least four different styles of Ben 10 Omnitrix watches available.

Having a choice is great but, trying to figure out which one your child really wants along with which ones the best choice can make things tough. This will help you to pick the perfect watch for your Ben 10 fan.

This is the ultimate watch in the entire Ben 10 collection, this is an action packed watch that features an LCD screen with full screen aliens, flashing lights and plenty of sounds.  Every time the you click on the dial another alien will appear on the screen, this is all part of the action as when Vilgax attacks your child will only have 10 seconds to choose the right alien to defeat him as he races the timer to be victorious and earn bonus points. This will keep your favourite Ben 10 fan amused for hours as they strive to set new high scores and defeat the evil Vilgax.

While this watch may be a little on the large side most kids who are crazy about Ben 10 seem to have no problem as it has two different battle modes that allow you to fight the evil Vilgax by selecting the right alien  for the job using the dial on the watch. While the graphics are not game console quality, they are amazing for a watch and combine with plenty of great sound effects to provide hours of fun. Construction is quite good and it should stand up to a fair amount of the typical abuse most younger boys tend to dole out. If you are looking for the ultimate Ben 10 watch this is the one you need.

This watch looks just like the one that Ben wears in the new series and is packed with cool alien voices, flashing lights and awesome sound effects. You can attach the transparent mini figures that come from the 10 cm Alien Collection Figure set to the face and unlock the special sound effects and the voice of that particular alien.  These sets are sold separately but, to start the ball rolling you get a Swampfire transparent figure.

With all of this you might think that this would be the best of the watches, but while it is a must have for any serious Ben 10 fan it does have a few little drawbacks. First you may find that the strap can be a bit hard to work until you get it figured out and may not always stayed snapped closed. While you get one alien figure with the watch to start you out, you will have to buy the rest and as of yet they are not all available which can be a bit disappointing. However, that being said the watch itself is well made and will stand up to constant use, the perfect addition to your Ben 10 fans collection. The Ben 10 Omnitrix F/X With the flashing green and red lights and transformation sound effects that come directly from the series this watch will make a good addition to your child's role play games. With a twist of the dial your child will be able to see 10 different aliens silhouetted in the back lit screen.

This watch is more suited to the 5 and under Ben 10 fan as the flashing lights and sound effects will add a totally new dimension to their fun.
However, since it aimed at the younger crowd it does not offer anything beyond the flashing lights etc. you might expect it to be significantly less than the deluxe version rather than similar in price. It is made tough enough to withstand the usual banging about that most children of this age group tend to dish out, but the plastic wrist strap is a little big for most kids and can be hard for them to fasten. This watch is perfect for stimulating your child's imagination especially if they love to run around emulating their favourite hero. The Ben 10 Omnitrix Alien Viewer This Ben 10 watch comes with three discs that when inserted allow your child to watch as Ben transforms in a different alien with each disc on the screen. You also get to see different scenes from the television shows. To add to the fun there are more discs available in the Ben 10, 10 cm Collectible Action Figure sets that are sold separately, each of these discs has 8 different "animation cells" that follow Ben through the complete transformation process and true to scale are viewed through a 1 cm aperture.

If your child is a Ben 10 fan he will soon have a large collection of discs as he adds to his collection of action figures. However, this is all you get with this watch and you have to have a good source of light to watch the images as there is no backlight. Most children tend to be a little disappointed as there are no flashing lights or sound effects to keep them amused.  On top of this tiny discs are easy to lose and they can be a pain to swap out, if your child loses them he is stuck with a watch that is nothing more than a representation of the Ben 10 watch that does nothing but show the time.

It can be tough to decide which one of these Ben 10 Omnitrix watches will make the best gift; each of them is very different. If your child wants to stay current then the Alien Force Ultimate may be the best choice but, if he wants one that comes with all the bells and whistles then the winner is still the Deluxe Omnitrix hands down. You should also take into account the age of the child you are buying the child you are buying the watch for as the ones will not be able to read and use all of the features on the Deluxe and the older ones will not want the F/X.
